Willard Design Group is proud to partner with STEM NOLA on the design of their new 27,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art STEM Education facility, set to transform learning and innovation in New Orleans East. This dynamic two-story building will house an array of specialized laboratories—including Wet Lab, Craft Lab, Woodworking & Metal Shop, Maker Space/Prototyping Lab, Computer & Robotics Lab, Digital Media & Gaming Room, Podcasting Room, and Green Screen Room—alongside flexible learning spaces, a collaborative stair, and a welcoming lobby that fosters interaction and creativity. The facility will also provide co-working environments and dedicated offices for STEM NOLA’s operations. Designed to achieve LEED certification, the project integrates sustainable strategies such as stormwater retention, permeable paving, rainwater capture and reuse, native landscaping, solar energy production, and a high-performance building envelope. More than a building, this center will stand as a beacon for community empowerment and a catalyst for the revitalization of an area still rebuilding from Hurricane Katrina—sparking curiosity, opportunity, and innovation for generations to come. Construction is set to begin early 2026.
